Description

The NUI Substance Abuse Program is culturally sensitive and strives to ensure that clients are treated with respect. We recognize that addiction is a medical illness with physical, psychological, emotional, and social implications. Treatment is geared to educate individuals about their disease, as well as to assist them in developing the skills necessary to manage their lives without alcohol/ substances. It is only after life skills are taught that the individual can break the cycle of addiction and strive toward a healthier, satisfying and more productive life. The Substance Abuse Program is funded by grants from Indian Health Services.
